about
Boliya (adjective, mentally ill, insane), rooted in 2019, was influenced by the political unrest times in India. Fast forward to 2022, and humankind never fails to surprise with their current global events. Boliya is an Assamese word that means being mentally ill. It is a narration of the people in power, control, or delusion of them both, expressing how we, the ordinary ones, have gone insane with turbulence due to the human ego.
From childhood until youth, this journey has always been costumed to elders' beliefs, terms, conditions, and authority. Is it too much to ask for a calm, independent existence with the freedom to "just be"?
lyrics
kauf ka jo tune
chun li hai dukaan
kyun bhala
zulm pe zulm kar
Jankar bhi anjaan bann
de wajaah
boliya moi holu (*pagal main huwa pagal)
boliya
tohotor maajot moi (*tum logo ke beech huwa main)
boliya
boliya moi holu
boliya
tohotor maajot moi
boliya
tune kya socha hai
kya jawaab dega
unn aane waalon ko
mauka to tha par main ruk gaya
yeh sochkar salamat hoga
ghar mera
boliya
boliya moi holu
boliya
tohotor maajot moi
boliya
boliya moi holu
boliya
tohotor maajot moi
boliya
